- Primary investigation method of SAH is CT.

- CT is performed in follow-up examinations as well (hydrocephalus).

- CTA is capable to detect/measure aneurysms.

- Quantity of subarachnoid hemorrhage has a predictive value regarding the development of angiospasm.

- MR can also detect older bleedings and evidence of bleeding.

- DSA is indicated if intervention is planned.
