I./1. Anatomy of the human liver

Ágnes Nemeskéri

Objectives and competencies

This syllabus describes disorders of the liver with special emphasis on clinico-pathological relevancies of malignant diseases affecting the liver in multidisciplinary approach. The anatomical chapter introduces macroscopic surface and intrahepatic anatomy and lymphatic circulation of the liver. Students may learn more about liver diseases such as cirrhosis or hepatic tumors in the pathological chapter. The radiological chapter introduces imaging modalities such as ultrasound, MR, or special techniques such as THAD or CT used to examine morphological and functional alterations affecting the livers. The clinical chapter offers insights into general symptomatology of liver diseases, non-imaging technique of diagnosis and important aspects of the treatment of various liver diseases in multimedia enhanced environment with illustrations photos and tables.
