Pathohistological diagnosis:
Haemorrhage
Accompanying disease:
Testicular atrophy
III./2.2.: Description of the preparation
The preparation weighs 190 grams and it is 11 centimetre long by its longest extension with a 4-centimetre-long testicle and a 3.5-centimetre-long epididymis lying on the testis in its ordinary position and a 4.5-centimetre-long, adherent spermatic cord. On the cut surface the testicle is homogenous, pale light-yellow-brownish, the seminiferous tubules can be plucked. The membranous shell of the testicle (tunica albuginea) is intact. Between the visceral and parietal lamina of the outer testicular layer (tunica vaginalis) a cavity with a significant size (8 cm in diameter) has developed. The cavity contains 60 ml of brown-bloodstained, watery, free fluid. The internal surface of the cavity is uneven due to the adhered coagulate. The walls of the testicular layers are cicatricially thickened with an average thickness of 0.3-0.4 centimetres.
