- US examination of the testis is an especially sensitive area, special attention must be paid to the patient's position and comfort and possible painkilling can be prepared as well.
- Echogeneicity of the epididymis is similar to one of the testis or a bit higher.
- Appendix testis and appendix epididymis are tiny, hyperechogeneous protrusions on the superior pole of the testis – usually under the head of the epididymis.
- Hydrocele can be visualized as an anechogenic (fluid), well defined area. Internal echos can be also visible in the complex hydrocele.
