• - US is the first line radiological examination method of the urine collecting system.

• - Location of the ectopic kidney must be clarified primarily by US. If it does not succeed, other examination methods, which apply radiation exposure (IVU, CT), or rather a radiation free MRI is suggested.

• - Horseshoe kidney is ectopic as well (fusion at 4th-5th lumbal vertebra).

Radiologists must also diagnose additional congenital disorders cooccuring with the horseshoe kidney.
