I. Learning unit: Horseshoe kidney

Objectives and competencies

In this curriculum students may have the opportunity to learn more of a unique development disorder the horseshoe kidney its factors of etiology, imaging studies required to establish diagnosis, and basis of therapy in multidisciplinary environment. The anatomic chapter describes students may read of anatomy of the ureter and the kidneys and embryonic development of the kidneys. Pathological implications sum development aspects of the kidneys, other development disorders of the kidneys. The radiology chapter may learn more of all the imaging modalities available to examine the kidneys such as ultrasound, MRI and other such as isotope IVU or CT. Clinical chapter summarize epidemiology, clinical course, symptoms, diagnosis, differential diagnosis, and treatment options in an environment enriched with illustrations photos and tables.
